Mineral insulated cable, a cable with a copper conductor core wrapped in a copper sheath, and magnesium oxide powder as an inorganic insulating material to isolate the conductor and the sheath. The outermost layer can be selected with a suitable protective sheath as required. Commonly known as MICC or MI cable. There is a similar cable that uses metal instead of copper sheath to wrap the core wire and insulating material, called Mineral insulated metal sheathed cable (MIMS Cable)
1. Standard
Flexible mineral insulated cables: JS/GY002-2017 Inorganic mineral insulated flexible fireproof cables with rated voltages of 1KV and below.
Rigid mineral insulated cable: GB/T 13033/ IEC 60702.
2. Operating temperature and insulation material
NG-A (BTLY): Double-sided mica tape + ceramic tape, up to 1300°C
YTTW: using phlogopite tape, up to 950°C
BBTRZ: using phlogopite tape + XLPE, up to 950°C
BTTZ: Using magnesium oxide, it can reach 1000°C
3. Model name and structure
BBTRZ: Copper sheathed flexible mineral insulated cable, composed of copper stranded wire, mineral compound insulation, and mineral compound sheath
BTTZ, BTTVZ, BTTYZ: corrugated metal sheathed mineral insulated cables, composed of solid copper rods, magnesium oxide insulation, and seamless copper tube sheaths
YTTW, YTTWV, YTTWY: copper core corrugated tube sheathed mineral insulated cable, composed of copper stranded wire, fluoromica tape insulation, and copper tape longitudinally wrapped with continuous welding sheath
BTLY, NG-A: Isolated flexible mineral insulated cable, composed of copper stranded wire, phlogopite tape insulation, seamless aluminum tube sheath, oxygen barrier filling, isolated refractory layer, and low-smoke halogen-free sheath
HFTGB copper core ceramic insulated metal sheathed flexible mineral insulated fireproof cable
FTGYZ Copper core metal sheathed flexible fireproof cable
4. Core number specifications and cross-sectional area
NG-A/BTLY: 1 core 10~300 mm2; 2, 3, 4, 5 core 2.5~300 mm2; 3+1, 3+2, 4+1 core 4~300 mm2.
YTTW: 1 core 10~630mm2; 2, 3, 4 core 2.5~120mm2; 3+1 core 16~120 mm2.
BBTRZ: 1 core 10~500 mm2; 2, 3, 4, 5 core 1.5~400 mm2; 3+1, 3+2, 4+1 core 4~400 mm2.
BTTZ: 1 core 1.5~400mm2; 2, 3, 4 core 1.5~25mm2; 7, 10, 12 core 1.5~2.5mm2.
5.Laying conditions
Flexible mineral insulated cables: need to be protected by a closed bridge or through a pipe (YTTW can be covered, no bridge or through a pipe).
Rigid mineral insulated cable: can be covered, without bridge or pipe.
