How to install underground electric cable?

1. The insulation resistance must be measured with a 500-volt megohmmeter before and after the underground cable is laid, generally not less than 10 megohms.


2. The core wire of the underground cable should be connected with a round sleeve. The casing is generally divided into copper casing and aluminum casing. The copper core cable is crimped with a copper casing. The copper casing is made of copper pipe containing more than 99.9% copper, the wall thickness is not less than 1mm, and the length is the diameter of the casing. 8-10 times; the aluminum core cable is crimped with an aluminum sleeve, the aluminum content of the aluminum sleeve should not be less than 99.6%, the wall thickness should not be less than 1.2mm, and the length is also 8-10 times the diameter of the sleeve; if the laid underground cable It is the connection between the copper core cable and the aluminum core cable, and the copper-aluminum transition joint should be used, and the copper-aluminum transition joint needs to be annealed before being crimped with the wire.


3. Hand hole wells or stakes must be set at the joints and corners of buried cable lines. In order to facilitate maintenance and investigation, the spacing between hand hole wells should be less than 50m.


4. Cables, intermediate joints, and terminal heads in cable trenches, handhole wells, and into control boxes and power distribution cabinets should be equipped with cable signs that record cable specifications, models, line names, or circuit numbers.


5. The intermediate head or terminal head of the underground cable connection must be sealed and waterproof. Cutting the underground cable can not damage the insulation sheath of the cable core. Each underground cable line construction should have original records of construction, which include: cable type, specification, length, installation date, number of intermediate joints and terminal heads. The advantage of this is that it can prevent the change and modification of the cable line, and facilitate the investigation and maintenance of the buried cable line. Every time the buried cable line changes, the corresponding technical data and cable signs should be corrected in time to ensure that the line correctness of the data.


6. There are two commonly used methods for underground cable laying, namely manual laying and mechanical traction laying. No matter which laying method is adopted, in order to ensure the safety of construction personnel and the quality of cable construction, the cable reel must be securely erected on the pay-off frame (or the cable reel is lifted by a crane). To erect a cable reel, roll the cable reel to the predetermined location in the direction of the arrow on the reel, and then put the steel shaft through the hole of the reel shaft. The strength and length of the steel shaft should be combined with the weight and width of the cable reel. , so that the reel can move freely. We plan to use human power to lay the underground cables. First, according to the length of the path, organize the labor to carry the cables along the cable trench for laying, or stand in the trench without walking and carry the cables by hand for laying. When the laying path is long, the cable should be placed on the roller, and the cable should be pulled manually to guide the cable to move forward.


1) Before laying directly buried cables, a layer of fine sand or soft soil with a thickness of 100mm should be laid in the flat and compacted cable trench as a cushion for the cables.


2) After checking that there are no foreign objects in the culvert pipes, put on the ropes and iron wires. When multiple cables are laid in parallel, check and find out the position of the cables to prevent them from being worn wrongly.


3) Place protective bricks and fine sand beside the cable trench as required.


4) Strictly divide the labor, designate the person in charge, liaison and on-site safety person in charge of various tasks such as cable reels, cable pulling heads, crossing pipes, cable turns, etc., and assign the responsibilities of each post. 


5) Designate someone to verify the underground cable laying length and reserved length.


6) After the cables are laid, check the length and position, and conduct visual inspection of the cables. When multiple cables are laid in parallel, the cables should be arranged at the specified distance. slack to avoid tension


7) After the underground cable is placed at the bottom of the ditch, it should be covered with 100mm fine soil or fine sand, and then covered with protective bricks and placed with warning tapes as required. The protective bricks should exceed the outer diameter of the cable on both sides.


8) For the direct buried cables, obvious orientation signs or signposts should be set up at every 50-100m in the straight section, at cable joints, at turns, and at places such as entering buildings. In order to find and prevent external mechanical damage during cable maintenance. 


9) After the underground cable is put and sawed off, the end of the cable should be sealed to prevent moisture from entering. Before the direct buried cable is backfilled, it should be accepted by the concealed project. Make hidden engineering records for the buried depth, direction, coordinates, starting and ending points and burying methods of the cables.
