Tata Power will build a 25MW solar project in Gujarat
Recently, Tata Power Renewable Energy Co., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Indian energy giant Tata Power, announced that it has obtained a 25MW solar project from Gujarat.
The project was acquired through a competitive auction by the National Solar Development Center (VGF) in India in November 2016.
The project covers an area of 46 hectares and has signed a 25-year power purchase agreement with Indian Solar Power Company (SECI) at a charge of 4.43 Indian Rupees per kWh.
Tata Power Renewables currently has a total installed capacity of 1484MW.
The company's chief executive said, "In addition to our own growth path, we will continue to look for opportunities to acquire and operate wind and solar power plants to enrich our product portfolio."
Tata Power also announced last week that it has secured a 30MW solar project from Paraswede, Maharashtra.
