Ethiopian Renaissance Dam 1400 km high voltage transmission line is nearing completion
Ethiopian power company has said that for the delivery of Ethiopian rehabilitation dam power 500 kV high-power high-voltage transmission lines and distribution stations will be completed, a total length of 1400 km.
The GrandEthiopianRenaissanceDam is a gravity dam built by the Blue Nile in Ethiopia, located in Benjamin Guomaz, near the Sudan border. The completion capacity of the dam after the completion of up to 6,000 megawatts, will be Africa's largest hydroelectric power station.
Misikir Negash, director of public relations at Ethiopian Electricity, said, "At present, the 500 kV distribution station has been completed and is waiting for the dam to be operational."
It is reported that the revival of the dam and its supporting high-voltage transmission lines and distribution stations put into operation, Ethiopia will increase the power exports to Sudan.
